Rooted in Taiwan and Asia-Pacific, we work alongside companies on three fronts — and back each with an IP program that makes what you build worth more, and safer.
Most investors underwrite the technology and hope the IP holds up. We do it in the opposite order — we clear the infringement risk before we invest, then build a patent wall after. Capital and protection move together, so your growth becomes lasting, defensible value instead of a bigger target.
We aim the Capital × IP dual engine at one thing: the structural growth of Taiwan's defense and dual-use unmanned vehicles — a sector scaling at once-in-a-cycle speed, before its patent walls are built.

and partnership announcements.

TIS Capital has closed its first fund dedicated to Taiwan's unmanned and dual-use systems sector, pairing growth capital with an IP program from day one.
The fund backs companies building unmanned aerial, ground, and maritime platforms, along with the flight-control, propulsion, and payload subsystems around them. It invests from seed to Series B, where a patent position is still cheap to build.
Every position is underwritten in the opposite order from most investors: infringement risk is cleared before the check is written, and a patent wall is built after. Capital and protection move together.
First deployments are underway across Taiwan's defense and dual-use supply chain. The fund expects to announce its opening portfolio positions over the coming quarters.
TIS Capital has led an early-stage round in a Taiwan-based maker of dual-use drone platforms — the first disclosed position from its unmanned-systems fund.
The company designs airframes and flight-control stacks for both commercial survey work and defense procurement. Its engineering sits in claim families that remain lightly contested in Taiwan.
Whole-unit drone exports from Taiwan grew sharply over the past year, while nine of sixteen foreign makers hold no patent coverage locally. The window to file first is open, and it will not stay open.
Alongside the investment, TIS is mapping the company's white space and filing to convert its growth window into a defensible moat rather than a larger target.

TIS Capital has opened a Tokyo desk to source cross-border patent transactions, tracking the assets Japanese corporates are divesting and where they can be put back to work.
Japanese enterprises are steadily divesting patent portfolios. The desk maps that outflow — the acquirers, the brokers, and the jurisdictions absorbing it — to surface assets that fit TIS clients.
The desk pairs TIS's Taiwan and Asia-Pacific reach with local sourcing in Japan, bridging M&A and licensing conversations that usually stall at the border.
The team is building its first cross-border pipeline now, with initial transactions expected to reach TIS clients later this year.
